About the Event
*Session 1 will start on June 27 and end on July 15
Dates and topics that will be covered:
Saturday June 27
Lesson 1: Briefly look at other games on Scratch to get an idea of what it is. Creating a project, making a sprite, background and naming the project. Pseudocoding what kind of program students want to design.
Sunday June 28
Lesson 2: Turtle graphics(movement) + sensing, will learn how to use keys to move characters, how to use all the sensing mechanisms provided by Scratch
Wednesday July 1
Continue Lesson 2 with movements and sensing.
Sunday July 5
Lesson 3: Sound- Recording, editing and implementing sound into code. How to loop the sound (for background music)
Wednesday July 8
Lessson 4: Variables- Creating your own variables, how to implement them into code. Talk about blocks.
Saturday July 11
Continue Lesson 4 with variables
Sunday July 12
Lesson 5: Make a game- Finishing up the game, and show them off at the end. Present and play each other's games.
Wednesday July 15
Finish up our final project!
